What fishing rod to invest in?

Hey I’m looking for a rod and reel combo that is within $100 and will be able to withstand surf fishing cat fishing, and other saltwater fishing. It needs to have a decent amount of line capacity and be pretty strong and sensitive. Thanks

Casting with fiberglass rods?

I just got a lamiglas surf king rod, the 10′ mod/fast action. i will be using it for surf fishing with claim bait. my question is that someone told me not to whip the rod hard when casting because it might break it because its fiberglass and not graphite, is this true?
